Scope of Application:
High Voltage Shunt Capacitors are primarily designed for 50Hz or 60Hz AC power systems to:
Improve power factor
Reduce reactive power losses
Enhance voltage quality
Maximize efficiency of power generation and supply equipment.
Operating Conditions:
Altitude: Not exceeding 1,000m
Ambient temperature range: -40°C to +45°C (Class B)
Installation environment:
• Free from excessive mechanical vibration
• Absence of harmful gases, vapors,
• No conductive or explosive dust
Operation:
• Shall be guaranteed under adequate ventilation
• Operation in sealed or unventilated conditions is strictly prohibited
Electrical connections:
• Flexible leads shall be used
• All circuit connections must maintain reliable contact.
Structural Features:
Construction:
Comprises a welded sheet steel tank and capacitor elements
Features porcelain bushings for terminals
Lifting lugs welded on both sides for installation, with one lug incorporating an earthing bolt.
Capacitor Element:
Formed by stacking multiple capacitor units and insulating components
Each unit consists of two aluminum foil electrodes separated by film-paper composite dielectric or all-film dielectric, wound and flattened.
Electrical Configuration:
Units are connected in specific series/parallel combinations to achieve required voltage ratings and capacitance values
For capacitors with internal fuses:
• Each unit incorporates a series fuse
• Upon unit breakdown, parallel healthy units discharge through the faulted unit
• The fuse clears the faulted unit within milliseconds, enabling continuous capacitor operation.
Three-Phase Units: Employ star (Y) connection.
Impregnant:
Liquid dielectric impregnates solid dielectrics and fills internal voids
Selected for superior electrical and physical properties
Exhibits excellent compatibility with all internal materials.
Application
Induction heating treatment, induction heating furnace, induction heating equipments.
